I’m thrilled to have been nominated for the Kore wa Watashi Blog Award! I offer my thanks to Foovay over at Foovay’s Cauldron! This award was created by Pinkie at Pinkie’s Paradise! Now let’s go over what it’s all about.

For this tag I shall not ask for a mention of the blog creator, nor do you have to display the logo if you do not want. In fact I am even keeping it optional if you want to tag the person who nominated you. By not forcing you.. the gesture of tagging and thanking them or the creator for that matter will be that much more sincere! So I will leave that up to you!

-The Purpose of this tag is very simple! Describe yourself through anime! To do this you will answer all of the following questions:

Describe a hobby or passion you have through an anime series! For example Shokugeki no Soma if you like cooking or Initial D if you like cars.

Simplify yourself to an Anime Archetype (Tsundere, Dojiko, Shota, Shounen-Protagonist etc) don’t overthink what an archetype is, go with your gut. Name a character that is also that Archetype.

Hobby or Passion: Psychological Stories: Monster. This is a hard one to start with. I had some issues finding a clear idea. This may still be a bit vague, but one passion of mine is stories featuring interesting psychology. A great example is the anime Monster. There are many characters and this anime explores the psychology of each of them. Psychology-related topics and themes include altruism, the formation of personality, perceptions of morality, ethical dilemmas, Antisocial Personality Disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, addiction, and criminal psychology. In addition, Monster is the single best anime I’ve ever seen in terms of story-crafting. It has all the makings of a masterpiece. This anime is a great description of the kind of things I think about.

Anime Character Archetype: The Unmotivated Heroine. This question almost got me lost in over-thinking, but I finally found a simple one. Examples of this archetype are Haruhi from Ouran HSHC, Konata from Lucky Star, and Gabriel from Gabriel Dropout. These characters and I share a stark lack of motivation or energy for the things the anime presents them with.

Looks and Appearance. Hmm. I’m similar to Haruhi Fujioka before her host transformation, with the short messy hair, floppy clothes, and thick glasses. I’m also short like her. But there are a number of differences. I’m chubbier and curvier. I have eye and hair colors (green and brown) like Suzaku from Code Geass, almost those exact shades. I’m growing my hair out a bit so I also resemble Konata from Lucky Star, who has green eyes, medium-length messy hair, and very small stature. In terms of expressions and physical mannerisms, I think the best choices would be Kobayashi-san (Dragon Maid) and Haruhi Fujioka, with a touch of Yuki Nagato.

Sexuality: Pansexual. For those who may not know, pansexual means attracted to people regardless of gender identity or sexuality. Whereas bisexual is attraction to two genders, and can be very specific, pansexual also includes people under the nonbinary umbrella. So picking anime characters that show my preferences is a bit difficult. I don’t really have “a type.” Any type can be attractive. But let’s look at some examples of anime characters I crush on. There’s Esdeath from Akame ga Kill, Shiki from Garden of Sinners, Mori-senpai from Ouran HSHC, Satsuki and Mako in Kill la Kill, Noriko from Kiznaiver, Makishima and Ginoza from Psycho-Pass, Shichika from Katanagatari, Muroi and Ozaki from Shiki, and many others, including characters from shounen ai and shoujo ai anime series.

Daily Life. This would be something like a mix of Gabriel Dropout, Welcome To The NHK, and My Roommate Is A Cat. My mental health is a constant struggle. I have social phobia among other disorders, so I often feel like Satou from Welcome to the NHK as he’s lazing about in his room, half-crazy from keeping himself inside. Similarly, Gabriel is a low-energy character who cares about little more than keeping herself entertained with online games. But for me, I use blogging and Reddit and fanfiction as outlets rather than games. Subaru from My Roommate is a Cat is a writer who is very attached to his cat and has serious social anxiety. So my daily life is also much like his. And again, I’m similar to Konata from Lucky Star, because she lives with her father. My daily life is pretty boring from some perspectives, but I get along alright.

Hopes and Dreams: Seishin Muroi. This young Buddhist priest is from the anime Shiki, and he’s also a small-time, independent writer of fiction and fantasy novels. Even though he likes helping the people in the town and providing counsel, he was more or less forced into the role, and longs for something different. I hope to be a good writer of unusual and thoughtful stories, just like Muroi. It would also be great if I was able to help people in a personal way, though my venue would not be religion. Last of all, Seishin is very strong in his own way. He makes some difficult and controversial decisions in Shiki, and holds true to his principles. I want to be able to do the same for issues and choices that arise in my life.
