Welcome! Please enjoy my brief episode recaps and responses for Dr. Stone: New World!
Episode 10: Science Wars
Senku’s group are able to communicate with Kohaku’s group as they approach the inner palace area. It was made possible using a simple communication ear-piece disguised as an earring. They also made a tiny motorized vehicle disguised as a rat to carry messages. The plan is for the girls to isolate Kirisame and get her to throw the petrification beam. Then a drone made by Senku’s team will snatch it right out of the air, and the weapon will be theirs. It’s a crazy plan, but Senku’s schemes are always wacky.

Kohaku and her group are made to do ladylike training before they can enter the palace. Security is tight, and there’s even a big man breaking statues of people who tried to escape before. But thanks to Amaryllis, Kohaku got to sneak away for a moment and look around. She quickly spotted the place where the Soyuz spacecraft was buried. Then she sent a message to Senku’s team using the motorized rat. It took some time for Senku and Gen to understand because Kohaku couldn’t read or write. Eventually, however, they realize the meaning: Kohaku found the platinum treasure chest.
This episode was pretty fun to watch and had a few educational moments, such as the idea of making a spinning motor out of opposed magnets. Amaryllis is as impressive as ever with her ability to charm men and look adorable and helpless. Kohaku is amazing too, so strong and with such keen senses. As for Kinro, meh. He looks super cute dressed as a girl, but he’s still the same man from before who honestly just annoys me. Anyway, it was a good episode and I’m excited for the last one!

Episode 11: With This Fist, A Miracle
Under cover of night, Kohaku investigates the buried space shuttle. The outer layer of metal crumbles at a slight touch, but underneath that is a layer of tough concrete. Kohaku can’t break it open without making a lot of noise, so she withdraws for the night. Fortunately, Senku knows how to make “silent bombs” out of plaster. He makes a bunch of them and sends them to Kohaku via the science rat.

Kohaku uses the plaster bombs and is able to get the contents of the space shuttle: a bottle full of golden dust. She sends it to Senku, who sorts out the platinum from the gold. Considering the rarity of platinum, it’s amazing that there’s a whole small flask of it. Byakuya spent decades collecting it by panning for minerals in the stream. He was so dedicated to the task that he kept doing it even as weak old man. In the end, Byakuya died in the stream, looking at the reflection of the stars on the water.
Now that they have the platinum, Senku quickly designs a setup that produces nitric acid. Using that “miracle liquid,” he brings back the petrified crew members from the ship. Everything is going well. The next task will be to steal the petrification weapon from Kirisame, but that will have to wait for the second cour of the season. Dr. Stone: New World Part 2 will begin airing in Fall 2023 if there are no setbacks. I’m excited! I was quite impressed with this season of Dr. Stone and I’m excited for more. Hopefully, I’ll write my season review soon.
