Tower of God Season 2 Episode 15 Review

Thanks for dropping by Anime Rants. We’ll jump right into my notes today. Tower of God Season 2 Episode 15 is titled “The Promise of That Day.” It refers to the time when Endorsi made Bam promise to take her on a date if they won the upcoming battle. But Bam supposedly died in that fight, and it must have really disappointed Endorsi on some level. She remembers it years later, and still feels sour when she thinks of the sweet boy whose life was unfairly stolen.

I was hoping Endorsi would recognize Bam, but it didn’t happen in this episode. (However, it did seem like she was reminded of Bam vaguely.) I like how Bam didn’t underestimate Endorsi when it was clear she was going HAM to come after him. He made Traveler throw anti-tank explosives at her! Endorsi was, of course, completely unscathed besides some dustiness and light scratches. Anime logic for the win! Also, Endorsi’s temper is humorous as long you’re not the subject of it.

I can’t help wondering if Khun and the others really left Prince and Miseng behind. If they were going to exclude the kids from their battle group, they should have done it long ago. At this point, it’s cruel to abandon them. I have trouble believing Goseng especially would leave Miseng to herself. The idea is to trust the kids to get themselves out of trouble. I guess there’s still hope that the two kids can fight back on their own. But right now it seems like they’re both out of commission, captured and unconscious.

The one who captured Prince and Miseng seems to be a little girl who can control a huge octopus-like monster. Though the creature is pretty cute, it’s still a devastating enemy in battle. It knocked out a bunch of people in short order. As for the girl, her name is Verdi and she’s creepy as hell. She apparently wants to “keep” Miseng and Prince to “make them her puppets.” Yikes. The only saving grace is that she’s with Shibisu’s group, so Shibisu will probably put a stop to her cruelty and save the kids.

Hatz had some very cool moments in this episode during his fight with Cassano. He apparently fought Cassano once in the past and was soundly defeated. But by now, his skill has improved a lot. The music during this fight was epic as all hell. Hatz and Cassano both have highly attractive character designs, and I certainly won’t complain about seeing two hot men locked in a fantasy fighting match with awesome battle music in the background.

I don’t have much more to say on this episode other than 1) the action in general was a little better than usual, and 2) I liked Anaak’s fight with Ran in particular. Anaak is cute, ferocious, and awesome. I love seeing her in action. I also feel like Anaak vs Ran is a good matchup since they’re both extremely skilled young teenagers with bad-ass attitudes. I like Ran, but of the two, I rooted for Anaak. The fact that their fight ended in a tye was very fitting.

That’s all for my notes on Tower of God for this week. As usual, I’m grateful for your readership. Until next time, Sayonara!

~Thanks for reading~

  1. Yeah, this episode was particularly good. I definitely liked seeing more of the season one characters in action again. I was also a little bummed that Endorsi didn’t recognize Bam. I’m wondering what plan Kuhn has up his sleeve. He acts cold pretty often, but he usually pulls through and helps people even if he doesn’t really have to. I don’t think he really left the kids behind.
