Tower of God Season 2 Episode 20 Review

Thank you for visiting Anime Rants today! We’re covering Tower of God season 2 episode 20. It was a fairly good episode with some sweet and romantic moments and some moderately entertaining action sequences. As usual, the music is amazing, but almost seems to grand for the actual story we see happening. Frankly, Tower of God season 2 is a little boring and lacking in direction. Nevertheless, let’s review episode 20.

Episode 20: Like a Flame in the Wind

Episode Rating: 7/10

Rak was fortunate enough to have an emotional reunion with Bam, but it wasn’t yet the right time for Bam to run away from FUG. Endorsi pulled Rak off of Bam and dragged him away. It was cute when she reminded Bam that he owes her a date next time. A little later, Viole tells Novick that he will be leaving FUG during the tournament tomorrow. However, before that, he plans to steal the Thorn that Beta told him about.

There is a sweet scene at the party where Kang shares a romantic dance with Goseng. They are very cute together, I think. Kang says he will rejoin Goseng on her team after the tournament. Speaking of the tournament, it starts bright and early the next day. The players are divided into two teams – FUG and the Wild Dogs – which will earn points by fighting and surviving on an isolated tropical island.

(Kang after being asked to dance)

The rules aren’t super important for an episode review, but it’s possible to enter a summoning cave and summon other team members to fight alongside you. With Khun’s help, Wangnan defeats the two enemies that followed him into the summoning cave. (He is on the Mad Dog team.) He then used the summoning spring to call on Quaetro and a few others to help him fight. Meanwhile, Viole leaves the FUG team and heads off on his own to steal the Thorn.

(Wangnan being cool)

Novick received a tip – supposedly from one of Viole’s friends – that if he abandoned FUG, the Mad Dogs would help him escape. He initiates his betrayal and starts a fight with Reflejo. However, this was all a trap arranged by FUG. The person who passed him the tip last night was not truly on Mad Dog’s side. She reappeared behind Novick and started attacking, but Novick was able to run away and escape with Kang, who also showed up at the same area.

(Novick escapes)

While that happened, Viole raced to the location where the thorn was hidden. It looks like a giant cylinder covered in bandage-like wrappings. I’m still not sure what it really is, but probably some kind of dangerous technology. Beta was at the thorn, waiting for Viole. He explained that the devil inside Viole was the key to activating the thorn. In other words, Viole was “made” to wield the thorn. Then, out of nowhere, Beta uses shinsu to restrain Viole and run him through with a brutal stab. To be continued!
