Tower of God Season 2 Episode 24 Review

Thanks for visiting Anime Rants. Normally, I try to write moderately engaging introductions for my posts. However, if I’m sufficiently bored or frustrated with a certain anime, it becomes impossible to give an interesting opening. I’m so completely “over” Tower of God to be perfectly honest. So, without even trying for a good intro, here is my review of season 2 episode 24.

Epiode 24: The Cost of Battle

Episode Rating: 6/10

In this episode, it becomes clear that Cassano is up to something. He leaves Reflejo, saying he wants to destroy everything. Later, we see him picking up a vial of red liquid from that weird old man who is pulling the strings of the Workshop Battle. I have no idea what he’s planning or what that vial contains. Also, there’s a weird moment where Beta randomly says that Cassano is the person behind everything and the ultimate enemy. That’s a decent late-game plot twist, I guess.

Rak, Khun, and Bam are super happy to be back together. Arkraptor and the others are glad as well. Wangnan is stable and will survive the stab wound from Beta. Sophia feels bad that she couldn’t do more for Beta, Kang, and Cassano. Shibisu points out the tournament is still going, but Khun recommends running away as a group. After all, they’ve made enemies of the Workshop now – not to mention FUG Regulars who might be on board the Archimedes, waiting for revenge.

(Side Note: Speaking of the Archimedes, Traveler is there, creeping through the ventilation tunnels, looking for the true form of Emily. At the end of the episode, we see him approaching the area where Emily is held. Cassano is also there. But that’s way later, so let’ backtrack a bit.)

As you may recall, Reflejo has captured Kang, Hwaryun, and Novick. He calls Bam and tells him to come save the three companions or they will be killed. Presumably, he wants to ruin Bam for betraying FUG. Bam wants to go on the rescue mission alone, but Khun and Rak go with him. (There’s no way they would leave him now.) They have 30 minutes to save the 3 hostages from 3 different locations and then escape on board a ship that Lero Ro has prepared. If they can do that, Reflejo and FUG will admit defeat.

While Hatz and Endorsi go to one of the three locations, Bam and his two companions go straight to Reflejo at a different location. Yihwa and Arkraptor, meanwhile, are searhing for Horyang Kang. Endorsi is surprised when Varagarv the Mad Dog does (minor) damage to her without even touching her. That angel-like antagonist is also there with Varagarv, taunting Endorsi and trying to make her angry. (Side note: Endorsi is so attractive!)

Sophia asks if Lero Ro will take Beta on the escape ship too, and it seem like he will oblige. I was thinking Sophia was not a very good person for taking part in those experiments, but she was trying the best she could to make those kids stronger. Now she feels extremely guilty that Beta, Kang, and Cassano went through so much pain. Bam reminded her that the love she gave to the young boys was what got them through those experiments.

Meanwhile, Reflejo faces off with Bam, Khun, and Rak. Until this point, he’s been masking his true power. Reflejo is an existence known as one of Poke’s Shadows, something which this anime doesn’t explain at all. So, thanks for that nothing-burger, LOL. Apparently, being a Poke Shadow or whatever makes you very strong, so Bam’s group is quickly being overwhelmed. At the end of the episode, as the group tries to save Hwaryun, Khun says he’s come up with a plan to win. To be continued.

~Thanks for reading~
