Yes, seriously. Most of this episode happened at the Centennial festival; but by the end, the characters are exploring an uncharted dungeon. The boss is actually two in one – a pair of dark gods. And they look like little girls.
In case anyone forgot, the lolita is a character archetype that exists primarily so pedophilic audiences can sexualize child-coded bodies. There are examples of well-written lolis and lolis that are not overtly sexualized, but the character type still has the same origins in this form of media.
Compared to most anime, this show hasn’t been too obnoxious with its sexualization. I hope that trend continues and the little girls are not portrayed in sexual ways. Anyway, let’s go over some other notes about Guild Receptionist episode 7.
Episode 7: I’ve Waited Forever for the Centennial Festival, so I’m Gonna Enjoy It, No Matter What
Episode Rating: 7/10
The episode begins with the introduction of Jessica, an adventurer and information broker who somehow acquired a book containing a secret quest from the ancestors. If it’s like the last one, then the quest will lead to a boss room and the opportunity to resurrect a dark god. Jessica hands the book over to the guild-master without saying where or how she got it. Guen, the guild-master, ordered for the quest to be stored in the archives underneath the guild prison.

In other news, it was finally time for the Centenniel Festival. Alina had a lot of fun eating the delicious foods and walking around the crowded, brightly decorated city square. It was cute and wholesome to see her so happy. There were also a few awkward but romantic moments between Alina and Jade, like when they held hands. Alina doesn’t return Jade’s love at this point, but she wanted to show her gratitude for his recent help.

Meanwhile, in the guild prison, Lululee was visiting Aiden, the one-armed tank who used to be in a party with her. Lowe accompanied Lululee for moral support, and it’s good he did, because Lululee was an emotional wreck. Aiden didn’t listen to her, but kept calling her a murderer and trying to intimidate her. Lowe helped lead Lululee away safely.

Not long after, Heitz broke Aiden out of his prison cell. He then proceeded to steal the secret quest from the archives. Lowe and Lululee witnessed the scene as Heitz opened the book and officially began the secret quest. He headed to the new dungeon with Aiden and one other party member. Their intent was to resurrect a dark god.

One of Heitz’s minions launched a magic attack on the crowd at the festival. Several people were injured. The point was to make a scene to distract from the theft and prison break Heitz was committing. Alina was horrified at the thought of the festival being canceled. She promptly eliminated the enemy with her executioner hammer. With some reluctance, Alina also decided to accompany Jade, Lowe, and Lululee to the new dungeon. They had to stop Heitz.

The episode cut right to the boss room. There, Heitz and his party encountered Jade and company. They fought, and one of Heitz’s men sacrificed his life to free Heitz from an ice spell. Heitz explained that he wanted to awaken a dark god to begin the destruction of the current world. This society and magic systems at play were not always reasonable or fair. Heitz viewed himself as persecuted by the world, so he wanted to watch it burn.

In the last scene, Heitz was abruptly killed by Viena, one of the twin dark gods that resembled little girls. The more subdued and short-haired twin was named Fiena. Together, Viena and Fiena started fighting Jade’s party, intent on devouring their souls as sacrifices. Alina smashed the enemies with her hammer, but they regenerated completely. To be continued!
