Greetings. The last bits of good in my country are in shambles, and I’m not doing so well emotionally. Blogging, however, is still something that brings me a little bit of joy in these dark times.
This post covers the episodes aired from June 30th to July 7th. Here are my thoughts on episode 1 of City The Animation, Ruri Rocks, and The Summer Hikaru Died.
- City The Animation Episode 1
- Dr. Stone: Science future Part 2
- Kaiju No. 8 Season 2
- New Panty and Stocking
- Ruri Rocks Episode 1
- Sakamoto Days Part 2 Episode 1
- The Summer Hikaru Died Episode 1
City The Animation Episode 1
Episode Rating: 9/10
City the Animation had an excellent first episode, at least for those who are familiar with the humor of its predecessor Nichijou. The situational, absurd, and chaotic humor was well worth the wait. I loved Nichijou and its weird style, so I’m ecstatic to have more of the same. But it’s also not exactly the same, because the characters seem different enough. So far, my favorite character is Wako Izumi, voiced by the adorable Yui Ishikawa.

Dr. Stone: Science future Part 2
Starts this weekend
Kaiju No. 8 Season 2

New Panty and Stocking

Ruri Rocks Episode 1
Episode Rating: 8/10
I definitely enjoyed Ruri Rocks’ pilot episode. The animation is beautiful. The character design for Nagi, though very unrealistic, is also attractive as fuck and something I don’t mind ogling over most of the episode. I mean, this lady has major plot and major assets! I also love her personality so far for real. Nagi is a kind, intelligent and slightly weird woman with a passion for geology and mineral hunting. She also has a war hammer, which is so awesome! Ruri is the main character, but I’m here for Nagi. XD

Sakamoto Days Part 2 Episode 1
IDK when this one starts yet
The Summer Hikaru Died Episode 1
Episode Rating: 9/10
People are hyping this up and the first episode was worth the hype. It’s a fast-paced pilot episode that opens the subtly horror-ish story in a highly engaging way. Both main characters seem interesting, and I’m dying to know about the demons or spirits that live in the mountains. This reminds me so far of Summertime Rendering, which I consider the best anime of 2022. In other words, The Summer Hikaru Died is off to a great start!
