Welcome! This week I’m covering the very last of the anime from Winter 2021. The only two left are Attack on Titan and TenSura. Here goes!
Attack On Titan Final Season
Episode 16 (Season Ending)
Episode 16 was riveting and had some surprising twists. Part two of the final season is set to air in Winter 2022. It’s going to be hard to wait another year, but what can you do? Anyway, one of the most interesting things about this episode was the appearance of Pieck, the holder of the Cart Titan. She infiltrated the fort where Eren is staying and, along with Porco, initiates an attack. The Jaw Titan tried to eat Eren but just barely missed. Marleyan airships are coming from above, and naturally Reiner is on one of them.
The other main events were Zeke being eaten by a mysterious titan and Yelena disclosing the secret plan to Pyxis and the Survey Corps. I found it interesting that Armin was so moved by the truth. One other thing. I don’t know why, but the plan to sterilize all the Eldians with the Founder’s power is referred to as “Eldian euthanasia.” That’s a wrong translation. Euthanasia is peaceful death administered to an individual. It has nothing to do with sterilizing people and keeping them alive. That’s it for now.
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime 2nd Season
Episode 12 (Season Ending)
The last episode of season 2 showed Rimuru’s reawakening and appraisal of the current problems. The Beast country of Euzania was destroyed and its leader, Demon Lord Carrion, seems to have been killed. It was Demon Lords Milim and Freya who defeated him, and they are working for Demon Lord Clayman. It’s unclear if they are being controlled or how. The demon whom Rimuru summoned reappeared and became his servant; he was given the name Diablo.
At the end, Rimuru awakens the spirit of Veldora the Storm Dragon and puts into into a new body. Now that Veldora is back, he can help with the threats posed by Clayman as well as the Western Holy Church. I am expecting a season 2 part 2 since that seems to be the trend now, but we’ll see. Overall I am quite impressed with TenSura this season.
