Welcome. It’s time to continue covering the new episodes of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime (or TenSura as it is sometimes nicknamed). TenSura Season 4 episodes 13, 14, and 15 correspond to episodes 85, 86, and 87 in the cumulative series count. Without further introduction, here are my first set of episode reviews and notes for Summer 2026.

Episode 13: New Companions
The new opening and ending songs were much more creative and memorable audiovisually than the blander songs for the first half of the season. (That’s my subjective opinion.) The opening has captivating visuals and an unusual sound. I’m grateful to be introduced to the band Daoka. The ending is a calming song with cute visuals. In other news, this episode brought back Demon Lord Deeno, who turned out to be a person who hates work. He was also homeless and asked Rimuru to take care of him. When he found out people in Tempest get to eat delicious food like cream puffs, Deeno swore loyalty to Rimuru and Tempest immediately. Rimuru only agreed to take care of the lazy demon lord because Leon sent him a letter asking him to do it.
All this time, Ramiris had been managing the dungeon and working in magical research as well. It was her idea to put strong cores in the new bone golems, which would serve as vessels for Diablo’s army of demons. Speaking of vessels, Ramiris also wanted to give the Dryads their own bodies, a request to which Rimuru happily agreed. Ramiris also needed an assistant, so Deeno became her new underlying in the lab. Deeno didn’t want to work, but Rimuru gave him no choice. At any rate, it was good seeing so much of Ramiris in this episode. She is such a cute and creative little character.
It turned out that Veldora also wanted an assistant in the lab. He requested that Rimuru bring back Ifrit, the fire spirit who was once attached to Shizu. Rimuru was reluctant because Ifrit’s loyalty was to another demon lord and he had made Shizu suffer. Veldora assured Rimuru that Ifrit now wanted to serve him and that they had become close while trapped in the dimension inside Rimuru’s stomach. Ramiris also asked on behalf of Veldora, wanting him to have an assistant, too. Finally, Rimuru agreed and released the spirit of Ifirit into a powerful new vessel. Much to Rimuru’s surprise, Ifrit now had a female form and could control wind magic as well as fire magic. (Note: Veldora later renamed Ifrit “Charys,” so that is how I will refer to the character.)
I have to gush for a few sentences about how cool Charys is and how very “gender.” When they found that their body was female, Charys felt comfortable immediately and said they were more powerful in that form. Later in the episode, Charys reverts to their male form and then discovers that they can shift between the two depending on which type of elemental magic they want to maximize. Charys seems fine with having two forms, but as a lab assistant for Veldora, they seem to prefer the female form. I suspect that Charys is in love with Veldora in their own way, leading to the desire to serve the great dragon. Anyway, Charys looks so cool and so hot in both forms! I love shapeshifters and genderbending stuff. Charys and their genderfluid fuckery were the highlights of this episode for me.
Episode 14: The Black Numbers
This episode introduced the Black Numbers, which is the name of the demon army led by Diablo. Before we get into the meat of the episode, I just wanted to say that it was cool and interesting to see Hell, the realm of the demons. It was also great to get so much screen-time for Diablo, who is my favorite character in the series after Hinata and Rimuru. There are several reasons that I love this character, not the least of which that he is voiced by Takahiro Sakurai, one of my favorite male seiyuu. His voice is so sexy!
Anyway, the episode begins with Diablo seeking out three other Arch-demons to serve under him and Rimuru. Demons in Hell all longed to be incarnated and named in the real world. Diablo wanted to share the joy of his recent power and incarnation with three female arch-demons. The first of the three was Jaune, a feisty and prideful demon who tried to fight Diablo at the suggestion of serving under him. She lost the battle and was left with the knowledge that her two rivals, Violet and Blanc, would probably be joining Diablo.
The second arch-demon was Violet, basically a goth loli with a special interest in torturing other demons. She agreed to meet Rimuru and see what Diablo was talking about, privately noting that she could just kill everyone if he didn’t provide her with a suitable incarnation. After visiting Violet, Diablo went to the third arch-demon: Blanc, who seemed calm and graceful at first, but who would murder her servants if she was in a bad mood. Blanc also agreed to come and meet Rimuru.
(Side Note: Blanc’s hidden castle in Hell was fucking beautiful!)
Before long, Diablo reported to Rimuru back in Tempest. The three arch-demons appeared to meet Rimuru, but they were all masking their auras and presences to test the young demon lord. Naturally, thanks to Raphael’s endless knowledge and explanation, Rimuru was able to immediately identity that these cute girls were actually powerful demons. After seeing Rimuru’s aura, Jaune was the first to swear her loyalty. Violet and Blanc followed suit. Then the three arch-demons were given new vessels and names by Rimuru. Jaune was now Carrera, Violet was Ultima, and Blanc was Testarossa. Rimuru also named the rest of the army of demons. There was a scene later where the demons enjoyed some wine and the new recruits agreed to work under the command of Diablo.
That’s about all for episode 14, but I have a few thoughts on these new characters. I don’t love the design choices for most of the demon girls. Blanc’s design is a bit overused in anime and Violet for some reason looks like a child. But I really enjoyed the less traditional design for Jaune/Carrera. Especially after she gets incarnated and renamed. I love her outfit and her androgynous beauty in general. I don’t know if these three demons will be important characters in this season or not, but it was cool to meet them.
Episode 15: An Unsettling Feeling
This episode was boring at times but never so much so that I regretted forcing myself to pay attention to it. This show has so many small but gratifying little moments sprinkled throughout it, so even when I get bored, I keep coming back and thinking of it fondly. Anyway, the episode began with Granville narrating information about a mysterious entity from the past – a mighty swordswoman with long, dark hair, who was more powerful than anyone else at the time. This entity was sealed away by Luminus and now exists in frozen sleep deep in Lubelius. She was referred to as Luminus’ greatest treasure.
Even by the end of the episode, we don’t know much about the warrior woman or her relationship to Luminus. I know there were a number of TenSura OVAs and/or movies that I didn’t see, and that makes me wonder if I missed a special episode explaining Luminus and her attachment to her “treasure.” I hope we learn more soon, because I feel like I’m missing a lot of context. In addition, I must say that Luminus and her treasure reads very, very gay. Luminus gives mad lesbian vibes, in my personal opinion.
The narrative next followed up with the three arch-demons (who were now Demon Lords, if I understood correctly). Each one was given an important job by Rimuru. For example, Carrera (formerly Jaune) was assigned to be the Chief Justice of Tempest’s judicial system. I still think Carrera and her androgynous energy are so cool! Anyway, after that, Rimuru visited Tiss’ class to check on his special pupils, including Chloe. While there, he saw Kumara in her new humanoid form. She was very cute.
Moving on, the scene switched to Demon Lord Leon Cromwell and his audience with the three clowns from the Harlequin Alliance. We learn that Leon is seeking a child named Chloe. I hope it’s for a good reason, like he’s looking for his long-lost daughter. For whatever reason, he has been trafficking certain children. After talking to Leon, Laplace and company reported back to Yuuki, who had sent them. Based on the report, Yuuki realized that one of Rimuru’s young pupils, Chloe, might be the one sought by Leon. He started scheming up a way to pit Leon and Rimuru against each other. This would interrupt Rimuru’s path to greater political power and renown among demon lords.
Meanwhile, Rimuru tested the abilities of his students with sparring. He witnessed how strong the kids had become and he was thoroughly impressed. The best student in terms of fighting ability was Chloe. She was on the fast track to becoming as powerful and beautiful as Hinata and Shizu. Rimuru and Hinata had a good moment together where they both expressed their hopes and concerns for the children and their path to the future.
The scene cuts back to Yuuki again and we learn that he was working on a certain special job for Granville Rozzo. His task is to steal Luminus’ treasure. The last scene shows Luminus, naked, fawning over her “treasure,” who is also naked and suspended in frozen sleep. This is very gay and I am here for it. Anyway, that’s all for episode 15.
