Welcome and thanks for taking a look at Anime Rants today. I am attempting to finish up the episode reviews for the shows I choose for Spring 2026. The following episodes were released between June 21st and 27th, 2026. The Ascendance of a Bookworm Season 4 and TenSura Season 4 will continue with their second halves into Summer 2026. Re: Zero Season 4 will pick back up in a few months.There are a few shows I wanted to cover for Summer, but I haven’t decided if I’ll actually write much since I’m already so far behind. For now, here is the last set of notes about Spring 2026 episodes.

The Ascendance of a Bookworm Season 4
Episode 12: The Winter Social Season and Debut
It was a special time for Rosemyne, Wilfried, and the other young children born to Aub Syvlester. It was time for their social debut. At the event, each child was socialized and made to perform a song with a musical instrument to prove their talent. Everyone did well – even Wilfried. When it was Rosemyne’s turn, she prayed to the gods earnestly during her song, resulting in a magical blessing so powerful it stunned the audience and made them call her a Saint once more. This was an interesting touch of magic world-building because it suggests that the nature-themed gods of Rosemyne’s world are probably real. She was caught off guard because the blessing didn’t come from her own mana of her own volition.
Rosemyne was surprised to learn that all children of the Aub were candidates to become heir to the title of Archduke. That included adopted children, such as Rosemyne herself. This meant she would have to take courses as an heir and it would be more difficult to take her desired path of becoming a librarian. A few other things happened in this episode, such as a bit of character development for Cornelius and Rosemyne’s other knights. I liked the part where Angelica said she became a guard only in order to avoid academic studies. Apparently, she’s a real muscle-head, despite her soft appearance. This episode was slow but fairly enjoyable for the character interactions and expressions.
Dr. Stone: Science Future Part 3
Episode 13: Ushers of an Exhilarating Future
The final episode of Dr. Stone was not bad, but it felt underwhelming compared to the heights I imagined it could reach as a show. The episode served to wrap up the encounter between the Medusa and Senku, show the astronauts returning home, and provide a sneak peek into the future several years down the line. Senku proposed some kind of deal to the Medusa, which took the form of a floating human skull. Senku hoped they could work together to create even more amazing science. However, the parasitic mechanical lifeforms refused, finding humans too fickle and lacking in intellect. So they decided to abandon humanity and seek a different species that could replicate and upkeep them.
Before leaving, the Medusa once again attempted to petrify Senku and his companions, unable to wrap their minds around the idea that it was an unwanted form of immortality. Stanley defended everyone by shooting the Anti-Medusa exploding net, destroying a large chunk of the floating mechanical lifeforms. Then the Medusa basically gave up and left. Only one individual Medusa stayed behind, eager to observe the humans. The curious creature was given a vacuum capsule to live in and accepted by the humans. After that very anti-climactic turn of events, Senku and company returned to Earth.
The rest of the episode showed us glimpses of the future several years after the exodus of the Medusa. I’m not going over all of it, but it was nice to see that Taiju and Yuzuriha got married. Gen was invited to Japan after several years to see Senku, who had been locked away in a lab, working on his craziest science project yet. This project was only possible due to the Medusa’s mysterious technology. Chrome, Suika, and other skilled scientists also helped. Much to Gen’s shock, the project was, in fact, a time machine. The plan was to use the time machine to save humanity before the initial petrification. Though we didn’t actually see if this came true, it was strongly hinted that Senku and company did indeed create a time machine. And that’s the end of Dr. Stone.
Go For It, Nakamura!
Episode 13: Even Then, I Love You!!
This is the final episode of the initial 13-episode run of Go For It, Nakamura! Sadly, no second season has yet been announced. I was mostly satisfied with the installment, but the first half of it was rather slow and boring. Nakamura was depressed, yet determined not to be bitter or petty. Just when he decided to make a point to be supportive of his crush’s new relationship, Hana dumped Hirose. Nakamura accidentally witnessed part of the conversation. He stayed to talk to Hirose, complimenting him by saying Hana just didn’t see his charms. This cheered up Hirose immensely and he exchanged contact information with Nakamura so they could text via LINE.
The next day, Hirose and Nakamura went on a bro-date and saw a movie together. Hirose also gave Nakamura an octopus keychain he picked out. Nakamura was overjoyed to spend the day with Hirose and get a present. The episode ends with him peacefully accepting the fact that he is still in love with Hirose. There were a few other scenes showing what the various characters were saying and doing as Nakamura’s second year of highschool began. Though slightly underwhelming and without a confession, this final episode showed enough Nakamura x Hirose content to still be worth watching to me. I also still empathize deeply with Nakamura as someone who was sexually repressed and closeted as a teenager. This was a good BL anime, but to be a truly great one, I think it needs a second season.
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 4
Episode 12 (AKA 84): Tempest Evolves
This installment marks the end of the first half of season 4. It was not a very exciting episode, so I had to watch it on a slightly higher playback speed to maintain attention. It had been a few months since the incident in the Ruins and the death of Maribel, which was treated as an accident. Most of this episode was about Rimuru checking in on different areas of Tempest and surrounding lands. There was a meeting scene wherein he introduced the concept of a constitutional state and expressed his interest in making Tempest adhere to democracy. He also talked to Kurobee, who had developed a new type of magic sword using elemental cores. In other news, Queen Mjurran was expecting a baby, the first child of Youm. It was nice to see Geld working as a capable and inspiring director of construction sites.
At the end of the episode, Veldora and Ramiris brought Rimuru to a warehouse and showed off the prototype of the Magitrain engine, which they finished ahead of schedule. To celebrate the progress, the development team of scientists had a party with Rimuru that night. Additionally, this was the night on which Gaia hatched from its egg. Milim was overjoyed by her cute dragon friend. Rimuru welcomed the little one to Tempest. This first cour was fine. The remaining 12 episodes in season 4 will eventually be covered on this blog in some capacity. For now, that’s all I have to say.
