The God Of High School Episode 4 Review

Welcome, dear readers. Surprisingly, this episode of GOH was good! This is will be an extremely short entry about the episode. Ready, set, RANT!

This was a really solid episode compared to what we’ve seen so far, in my opinion. I like Mira and I loved the message that she should do what she wanted and fight for her dream in her own ways. Mira is working on finding a balance between her sense of duty and her sense of self and freedom. I love it that she isn’t just a puppet of duty and family honor. She’s got her own spirit.

I don’t know if I would have butted into the wedding like Mori, but I’m glad that he did. It was good hearing the voices of the side characters such as Mira’s uncle (Keiji Fujiwara) and the purple-haired dude (Junichi Suwabe). I don’t remember that character’s name. I still wonder what that cult is after and how they are connected to GOH tournaments. Seeing that happened to Daewi’s friend and how he responded so violently was really sad. It was painful to watch Mira getting beaten so badly.

Those were all positive or interesting elements of the episode. However, there’s no getting around the fact that everything was way too rushed. It was at least two episodes’ worth of content– maybe more– squeezed into 20 minutes. That’s the downside to this episode. Still, it was entertaining and it made me glad that I suffered through those first few awful episodes. That’s about all I’ve got for today. Really, thank you so much for reading!
